Project for the summer is to distribute a questionnaire to the SLIS community (probably using Survey Monkey) to find out how we could better served the SLIS community's needs and thus increase participation. Results will be published on the website in addition to a statement regarding how we have used this information to better shape future programs or events.
Please post any ideas for questions here.
Please let me know if you would like to be involved in creating, distributing, analyzing the results of the survey and/or drafting our conclusions.
Results of the user-needs survey will also be published on the blogger as a separate item where I hope we can begin to brainstorm better programs in light of the recently gathered information.

Summer 2010 Orientation
Orientation is Saturday June 5th. A statement will be made in hopes of recruiting new members and to encourage new students to become involved as our Summer 2010 Member at Large.
Mailing labels with the ALA-SC @ LSU's logo, website, and facebook information have already been printed out with the intention of being included on the folder/handouts distributed to incoming students per permission from the dean and/or Latoya.
Anything else that should be stated or could be done to promote involvement?
Please let me know if you will be at orientation!

How I propose we use this
Any officer should be able to sign into our ALA-SC gmail account and post a project, idea, proposal, etc. Officers should be sure to sign their entries or comments so we know who originally posted. Other officers can respond using the comments feature (much like forum postings). In fact, if we post a link to this blog on our wordpress site, the SLIS community can also find it and add comments. In addition to helping us better manage our projects and promote discussion amongst officers, I hope using a blog such as this will allow for greater transparency and better recordkeeping in our student chapter.
